Here is the latest report for those who fish BGL. I have seen a lot of people going home saying that there is no fish in the lake. Come on people, lets be a little more on the realistic side. Though the fishing is not red hot, you can still catch your limit by plunking powerbait on the bottom. I have been to BGL four times this week and have limited out every single time in under two hours. The main problem as to why anglers aren't catching any fish is because they DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! Here's the lowdown... Fish on the bottom with chartreuse, orange or rainbow powerbait (power eggs work awesome if you can get your hands on them) with a 2 1/2-3 foot leader and a size14-16 gold eagle claw style hook. Its not that hard a concept to wrap your minds around. One guy that I was fishing with two days ago was complaining that he wasn't catching any fish. Upon closer inspection of his gear, it was discovered that he was using 20ld test line, a six ounce sinker, and a size 2 hook with about half a jar of powerbait on it. Keep in mind that these are hatchery trout, not tuna. The lighter and smaller the gear you use, the better off you'll be. And for those who are constantly complaining of getting hung up on bottom, use a lighter sinker and fish farther out or away from all of the logs. P.S.- fishing in the late afternoon has been the most productive time for catching the fish.
