Fished Rufus Woods from Friday to Sunday. The entire place was packed. There was a t least 120 truck and trailers at the 2 launches we saw and the net pens were lined with people. It was a pretty slow weekend from last time. At the pens we saw 7 fish caught and saw maybe 15 other fish on stringers. Everyone we talked said it was the slowest they had seen it. We didn't even get a bite at the net pens. We ended up catching 3 fish in about 7 hours of fishing. My girlfriend caught a 6lb triploid on a 4' leader w/ a white mallow and chartreuse powerbait, I caught a 5lb trip on a 7' leader a size 14 hook and a single orange power egg and I caught a 4lb trip on a 10' leader and the same power egg set up. The big one spit out a full prawn and was completely full of the pellet food.

Where did you end up catching your fish at if not the net pens?? Do you think that Rufus is getting all fished out and that being the reason for the slow fishing?? At least you made out w a few fish thats all im looking for. Is trout tasty if you smoke it i've never tried it but after my buddy and I make a run out there this weekend and hopefully leave with a few pounds of trout i would like to try and smoke it.

We caught them about a mile down river from the pens. There are quite a few spots that you can fish down from the pens. If you dont have 4 wheel drive the spots will be pretty limited. I had to drop down to 4 wheel low to make in and out of the spots. I dont think rufus is fished out, they say if they arnt letting water over the dam the fishing is slow. Smoked trout is really good, and the ones from rufus are awesome smoked.

thanks for the heads up but we have still to make it out there. My buddy has finals in 3 weeks so he is studying to get the pass but i am taking notes.
