Went out on Bitter lake this afternoon from about 3:00-6:00 pm. I'll start off saying I didn't have a single bite. I put in at the public hand launch area, and as usual I work my way down and all around the entire lake from my float tube. I concentrate on the far side and far end of the lake where there are more docks and structures. I threw some drop shotted Senkos, grubs, crankbaits, etc. etc. I have been successful in the past for smallmouth by even dragging a plain old worm behind a bobber with no wait, but still no luck today. I also went out in the middle of the lake and suspended a worm off the bottom, nada. It was overcast, no wind, cold water, no temp. available. No one else on the lake, and a couple of plunkers on the shore with no fish.
If this lake is in your area you must come try it when things have warmed up, it's a sure thing lake later in the season.
