Time: ~1 pm, Weather: Mid 30s, Windy, Snowing/raining, Water Temp: 43 F, Buzz: perfect!
After about 30 mins of fighting the wind on the north end of the lake we decided to cruise along the east side and try to spot some bass with small mouths on the finder. I figured, while we're puttin' along I might as well have a line in the water since a 10lb Rainbow was caught here not long ago. I rigged up a half silver / half chartreuse dick nite. Shortly after putting my dick nite in the water I noticed the finder was picking up all kinds of fish at 15-20 ft (in 30 ft of water). Right then I noticed a lunker had popped up on the finder at the same depth, so I turned to check my pole, and holy S... I was already hooked up. Pulled my rod out of the holder and instantly thought I had hooked into a 10lb Bow like we were talking about earlier. To my surprise, it was this 5.1 lb smallie! On a bloody dick nite? God I love fishing...

Those smallies in Stevens are GREAT fighters and will hit just about anything. I've even hit them trolling a wedding ring, hahaha. Very nice fish bro!

Nice fish!!!! Congrats. I know that there's some nice bass in that lake but they have been hard for me to catch. I've considered trolling for them. Nice one!!

Awesome! Looks like it's time to take out the dinghy and hit Lake Stevens for smallies.

I've heard that dick nite spoons catch a lot of fish, but I have tried them at least a dozen times and never caught squat. I must be doing something wrong. How did you have it rigged? With a dropper, or just a couple of split shot on the line?
