I tried just off-shore from the boat launch (didn't stray too far because I was trying out an electric trolling motor -- a used one -- for the first time and didn't want to head out too far). Anyway, we didn't catch a single thing, but I'd heard folks were pulling nice browns out of there.

3/31/2008 5:38:00 PMtrout cowboy pull plugs im not going to tell you what ones that takes all the fun away I have caught some nice browns there this year one going about 5- 6 lbs and a few nice 2 - 3 lbers you were in the right area most of my luck has come just east of the lake but seems to pick up all over once the water changes a bit. 3/31/2008 6:24:00 PMThanks Jay, I appreciate the confirmation that they're in there. I'll just call it bad luck. I checked the topo map before we left and it looked like the deepest part of the lake (and that's not saying much -- the deepest was like 30ft) was a hole maybe a bit SE from the launch, so that's where we criss-crossed. We normally head for the extreme south end of the lake for bass/crappie but didn't have time to make it there on only a partial charge and 43lb thrust motor with only a couple of hours before dark. So I was in unfamiliar territory and probably using the wrong gear too. I'll hope for better luck next time. ;-)
