I just checked the WDFW weekly planting reports for March. Looks like Sprague has received 50,000+ catchable size rainbows between March 18-26. So is the lake actually open to fishing now? Those new planters should be fairly easy to catch. I am excited for the restock efforts on this lake, especially the Tiger Muskie. Fish On!

Better than a lake full of Carp Mossy. They are starting with the intro of trout so that people will start fishing the lake again. Later they will introduce the spiny rays such as bass, perch, tiger muskie , etc........ but no walleye this time.

I understand the carp problem. Been fishing sprague for years. No walleye and very few catfish is the reason why I fought the kill off. I'm just tired of the huge stocks of trout. I can go on and on about the subject but others have already heard it. Thanks for the update

I agree, we need another trout Lake here as bad we another Spokane street with pot holes. It is an absolute shame that we must be subject to this kind of mismangement. Biologists are just too lazy to understand the meaning of diversity. I can see elliminating some of the bottom dwell fish,(carp) but not stock it with Walleye, perch, Pike.. sucks!
