So Sunday was my first day on Island lake.. ask why? I don't know, I live right around the corner and have never been here, Well, that has changed now!!! I met a guy coming off the lake in a float tube with a fly rod... I had all intentions of fishing spinning gear mostly because i have never fished fly for trout... he told me a few things , gave me a fly to try,, and wham-mo trout on the fly rod!!! MONDAY: Switched to a green woolly bugger and could not keep the trout off my line... best day with a fly rod to date!!! this including salmon and all the saltwater fly fishing I do and have done back home in Florida.
Had a few nice size bows... but the action was incredible!!!!! over 30 fish in 3 1/2 hours. Thanks again float tube guy, hope to see you out there again!!!
