4/16/2008 8:08:00 AMyo urban i fish echo all the time its like 2 blocls away from my house and you can catch a bunch of trout in there along with some 12-15in LMB. They're small but a fun little fight. The funny thing about echo is the trout stay in really shallow there and in the weeds like bass. I use a flat fish lure and knock them dead i fhat dosent work try a white rooster tail. Its right next to aurora village.
quad- I hate haller i use to go there all the time in my float tube and nothing! But maybe we can go kick around bitter and you and urban can show me where the fish are.

4/16/2008 10:16:00 AMI fished Haller Four times in the last five years,and with the state planting these little 6-9 inch "catchables" in the lake, it seems to me they are only providing a buffet to the many sea birds (cormorants etc.) that have figured out the opportunity for an easy meal for a couple of weeks until its fished out. I've seen it happen on Bitter,Echo and Silver lake (Everett). I've watched these birds work as a team pushing the trout into a school and then diving in for as many as they can consume. I don't want to sound like I don't appreciate the state stocking our urban lakes, its better then not stocking them at all. It's too bad they can't "manage" the sea birds population as well.So, go get 'em before all the birds do! tight lines my urban brothers.

4/16/2008 2:40:00 PMI have to jump in about good old Haller Lake. I have fished this lake 3 times in the last few weeks with zero luck! I think one time I had a fish bump my fly...if so it was a very small fish. The lake is so close to my house that I end up going there when I really should head somewhere else. I woould not recommend to anybody...

4/16/2008 8:23:00 PMI fish Echo lake all the time even though Ballinger is a little closer. If you are coming off Aurora, go east on 200th (look for Discount tire) and take the first right. Very limited parking maybe 15 stalls. Car toppers/rafts work great due to influx of swimmers and people with dogs tossing balls in the lake. North side of lake and northwest side (N. of large willow tree) is great for bass come summer with lillypads giving bass cover. I have pulled a 5#er out of there and plenty of 1-2#ers. Great underfished lake if the cormorants and people who get their limit 2-3 times a day don't clean it out.

4/17/2008 8:34:00 AMNE1Fission (nice i just got your name as a i was writing it) how do you fish echo? If you use a boat or float tube try this spot. On the south side of the lake almost towards the end there is a nice house with its hot tube out on his deck. If you throw flat fish or even a lead head jig in his little closed in deck area you can slay them in that area!! Both trout and bass!! I never keep my fish there i like to keep it full because i'm there so much and its nonstop action in the summer.
