This lake is really in Okanogan county. Started the trip looking to catch Walleye but had trouble with the kicker so anchored up and threw lures and jigs. Friday fishing was fair by Rufus standards. Most fish went 1.5-3.5#. Fished above the upper net pens in 30' of water, pretty windy had a hard time getting the anchor to hold. Not many boats out on Friday. Between the 3 of us we caught and released around 25 fish. Finished the day off taking back our limit of fish. Saturday ran down to the net pens to try and get in to bigger fish. Trolled for 2 hours without marking or getting a fish. Ran back upriver and fished the 30' water again. The fishfinder was solid with fish and it wasn't lying. We caught and released over 200 fish using black anything with single barbless hooks. Cookie cutters again 1.5-3.5#. Hardly any wind or boats on the lake Saturday. Sunday got to the launch and it was a blizzard. Decided to go for it and ran the 9 miles downriver to fish.
Anchored in 30' of water and nothing. There were a bunch of swallows feeding on bugs on the surface closer to shore so we moved and anchored in 14' of water. Much bigger fish in the shallows today 3.5-5# but no BIG boys. No boats made the trip downriver through the snow storm. The snow stopped and so did the bite. Moved to deeper water and found the cookie cutters again. Caught and released over 50 fish Sunday. The weather cleared which made for a nice run back to the boat launch.
