I thought I would try targeting Kokanee today to see if they were biting at all. I tried trolling a dodger with a tube bait tipped with shoepeg corn. I got lots of strikes, but was only able to boat one trout. The weather got even worse and the high winds were blowing my pontoon too fast to troll. I figured I would give up on Kokanee and switched to the hot lure here last time, a copper wee dick nite. After catching one stocker, I pulled in a 10" Koke!
It started raining and blowing so as soon as I caught a limit I headed home. The fish were small, in fact the stockers have averaged smaller here than other lakes I have fished. I think I lost the two biggest trout at the boat.
Still, enough for a nice BBQ tonight for the Wife, the cat and myself.
