I along with two other friends went to clear lake around 8 this morning. We rented a boat from mallard bay, until my boat is finished. We started trolling in the coves in the South West corner going out towards the white buoys, I was fishing a orange/black Rapala minnow, like the x-rap series maybe. Within first ten minutes landed the first of four rainbows. Was about 14" and 2" thick maybe(good sized). After that, continued trolling towards the east side of the lake, my buddy landed another one using a wedding ring. A few hours later coming back by mallard bay's white buoy's I landed the third rainbow with the same Rapala (orange/black). Continued trolling back toward the Coves past mallard bay, when my friend landed the final fish of the day, about a 11" rainbow. All in all it was decent day, about 20 boats on the lake maybe more. We should have been there earlier in the day, but was a good first day for us.
