First time on this nice clear lake.
I quickly realized I forgot all my lures at home so I was stuck with digging up a couple of Salmon lures to try. I started out with the largest size gold Dick Nite. It was doing fine until I hooked a smaller one that was coming in across the surface.
Out of nowhere, about 10 feet in front of me, an Osprey swooped down and grabbed the fish I had on! The reel screamed for a second till I grabbed it and broke the line (didn't know what else to do). The Raptor with prey flew off above me, I said out loud "At least you could give my lure back!" A second later the lure came falling from the sky but about 20 feet away.

After the excitement, I put on my last lure, a pink and white Dick Nite. I was able to finish off my limit and head home. I really recommend this lake for those who are looking for decent stockers and don't mind crowds. The fish here are a little bigger than average.
I saw a lot of rookies out there that obviously have no idea that they are supposed to yield to non-motorized craft. My trolling pattern was go in any direction there are not boats, yet I still had to stop and reel in a couple of times because people would drive over my line. I did not fill out the hotspot because everyone was catching them everywhere I looked!

wilderness is my opening day lake, and yeah its stockers are way bigger than Beaver or Boren. good thing the osprey didn't eat the lure.

What? You didn't go in after the lure?
