I took the wife and Father-in-law to Failor this morning. Used power eggs and 4' leader. We fished from about 8:00 until 9:30. Then it started to rain so we gave up and went home.
The bigger fish are the Steelhead smolts they plant. They are 17-18 inches long and weigh 1-2 lbs. They have nice firm red meat.

Question. How can you tell steelhead smolts from the bigger trout. They all look alike to me... :(

The color of the meat, and small egg skeins, and they appear to be brighter color.

Do the smolt have a "Red" meat? Last year I took a friend to Deep lake in Thurston county. He caught two fish about the same size (18" - 20") when I cleaned them I found one had red meat, almost like salmon and the other had the expected whitish hatchery trout color to it.
