Out for a day of exploring the area away from the net pens. Pretty lake, but zero fish or bites in about 1.5 hrs. using marshmallow and chunk of nightcrawler. Cast my homemade spinner for about 20 mins without a touch. Fished the access/camping area and walked the shoreline both ways. Sunny and a bit breezy at times. There were 2 guys trolling in pontoon boats and another on the shore that I talked to that said they fished for 3 hrs without a bite. I drove the Eagle Cove Rd down the lake and was surprised how big this lake is. Pretty bays and lots of good looking water. Too bad they don't allow camping other than at the resort and designated campground.

Rant mode. There is tons of garbage, cans, bottles, fishing junk etc all along the shoreline. I saw this at the net pens on Rufus and several other lakes on the reservation. It's not ok to just throw your crap on the ground no matter where you are! Please, Pick it up.

I heard that that lake went through a huge winter kill. I tried to find that lake last feb. but couldnt locate it. I did find Lake Rebecca though ever fished there? There are signs on the reservation that say they will close acces to areas if the trash isnt picked up. I hope that dosnt happen, but in some cases it will be for the better, most places that I have been to on Rufus is pretty trashed.
Fish On!

Thanks for the info. That explains why there were no fish. If you would have continued on the road east past Rebecca Lake for another mile or so you would have found Buffalo Lk. No, I didn't fish Rebecca. It looks like a nice little lake. I think there are only bass in there?

Yeah, it's a shame there's so much trash. There are very few natives fishing or camping at the netpens, so you can bet that most of the garbage is by off reservation people. It's getting harder and harder to find decent places to camp that haven't been regulated to death. I've lost a number of areas all over E.WA. You can thank the inconsiderate slobs for that.

I didn't post a report when we were there because we didn't spend alot of time on the lake. Marked quite a few fish on the finder and picked up a few kokanee.
When we were launching an old guy brought in a 24" rainbow he caught just off the resort.
Doubt that there was a winter kill. Got a depth map from the caretaker ( that I scanned and emailed to Mike) and the deep spot in the lake is 120'.
You actually have to buy a spiecial winter license to fish Buffalo along with the res license.
Rant mode: almost any lake or river you go to anymore has alot of trash, reservation or not. my 2 cents
