Hi, this is my first report but I have been a fan of the site for a long time. Finally registered. Anyway, took my daughter fishing at Green Lake last week and caught a 17" trout! This was good for us as we have been skunked numerous times before then.(Potholes, Soda, Blue, Washington, etc). This is our first fish from this lake. We have tried a few methods over the months, even from our 12' "porta-bote" , but it was the dock on the South part of the lake (next to stadium) that was the trick. I used a size one hook with half a crawler tipped with a pinch of powerbait. 10 minutes later I reeled one in. It swallowed the hook and we took it home, filleted ,and consumed it within the hour. Yeah, I know, but it was a stocker so I hoped for the best. in regard to contamination. It was good!
Anyway, I've used a few roosters, spoons, rigs, etc, but bait "won" the day this time. I also added a picture of what I hooked with a rooster tail last month to give you an idea what's in the lake. (yes, I know the shot slipped, lol)
I believe the 17" is a triploid...can anyone confirm?
