Got to the lake at 6:30A, on the water by 6:45A. It was a great morning, slightly cold, no wind, water was like glass. Could see the trout rolling. Water was 54 degrees. Started with just casting various lures since there was no wind. Kastmasters, spinners, etc. Fish finder said that the fish were about 5 to 10 feet down. Casted out a wedding ring tipped with 1/2 a worm, got some nibbles, but nothing stuck. I finally tried trolling with pop-gear with a dick nite spoon and went across the lake a couple of times, nothing. While letting a worm hang on a hook about 10 feet down I switched to just a wedding ring with a worm on a 1oz banana weight. Started to troll that I hooked a tiny little planter, the smallest of the day. Let him go. The next 4 fish came within the hour. Took those home to show the wife that I do catch fish. The kids were excited to have their own fish.
