Curtis...... just a little clarity for you concerning the state regulations. Catch and Release is great!!! But the state law states that you are limited to the first 5 (five) legal sized fish you catch (not keep). So the Losers were accurate. If your father brought more than 5 legal fish to hand he would legally be finished for the day. Same for yourself. I know it sounds screwed up but they will cite you for a fishing infraction if you are caught landing more then the lake limit. This and several of the area lakes (Tanwax, Ohop, Kapowsin, Rapjohn..etc) have been heavily patrolled this season so be forwarned. Catch and release is a great practice but the state considers the fish mortality for any hooked fish and thus sets the limits on the total of all fish landed.

Not being a pain in the butt just know this is how it works. Rather have you informed than come back to the launch and find a tan truck waiting to write you a ticket.

Actually Rubioloco.... You may catch and release as many fish as you want as long as you are using artificial lures with a single barbless hook, and I'm pretty sure a fly is considered in that. Just to clarify.

By the way, I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt either, just strictly informing.

rubioloco, if I were fishing with bait, I would be in the wrong, just another reason I switched to fly fishing.

Actually it states " Where use of bait is prohibited, or where lures or flies are used voluntarily, game fish may be caught and released until the daily limit is retained" It doesn't say single barbless hooks. That's page 36 of the new regs. If you have found the part about single barbless hooks somewhere let us know.
