Margeret is simply stuffed with fish. There were two plantings of stocker rainbows that are about 10 and 12 inches respectively. In addition, cutthroat fry plants are now about 12-13 inches in length. I have fished it three times in past week and always limited in short order. I kept a coupe, to eat and was quite disappointed in the taste. They were white fleshed and very bland.

Everyone seemed to be catching fish. They are now in top three feet of the water, but will be moving lower soon.

next time you fish that lake try smoking the trout. I have fished there many times with good luck and cooked many ways. Smoking was good!

I caught one tonight that has nice pink meat.... had a hard time keeping the fish on the hook though.. I'm used to Pine where they jump into the boat :-)

I would urge people to C&R out there cause it's a fun C&R fly fishing lake. Taking one or two home to eat isn't the end of the world :-)
