The weather was too nice to stay home. Loaded up the float tube and was on the water by 6:15 PM. Started with a black wooly bugger, and caught my first fish about 100 yds west of the launch. It was a bit windy, worked my way across the lake and had multiple hits and finally landed another fish on the south side of the lake in front of all the houses. Worked by way back across the lake, and landed my last fish about 50 yrds. off the launch. Lots of hits, a few fish jumping, but too rough to see if there was any surface feeding activity. No other boats/tubes on the lake, but a couple of folks showed up close to 7:30 and were working power bait off the launch. The fish are very small this year, everything ran in the 10-11" range. But very pretty little RB, didn't appear to be the typical hatchery fare, maybe the results of some smolts plants last year? Overall a very enjoyable evening on one of my favorite early season lakes.

On another note, does anyone have any info on Dory lake, just S. of 140th. ST. SW? I'm tempted to haul my tube through the trees and give it a shot.
