anyone who has been fishing alder for bass and not doing any good its because your fishing with the wrong baits most people try the soft plastics but you should be using spinner baits and jerk baits there's a lot of bass in this lake its just that nobody knows what the heck there doing I have caught at least ten fish a night only fishing from 400 to dark

I agree with using spinnerbaits. As for plastics,I don't use them. I imagine somebody who can use them well would do fine here. 10 bass a night is very good. Got any pics?

What was the size of the fish? I use spinner baits but I have noticed that the 1+ lbs- 5 is all I have ever caught on them so now I'll find them with a spinner or crank and then use plastics for the larger fish. It works for me anyways.

Never tried spinnerbaits, but will now, always used Rapala Jointed Minnow and only caught trout , except once by swim area by dam had a 5lb LM follow bait right up to shore by the log boom and turned away right at my feet. Other than that I've seen 5lber but never been able to catch em. Since you went yesterday and the last time I went was like 3 weeks ago have they been letting the water level come up any?
