Hit Tapps about 2pm. Original agenda was to catch and photograph an unknown black-stripped fish that I had seen schooling/spawning on huge beds in massive numbers in the "New" Party Cove. We got distracted and fished for bass for a few hours. Aldo caught this hard fighting Crappie on a 5in. Senco, didn't actually measure it but it was 12-13 in. biggest I have seen out of Tapps! Largest smallie was 3.2, in all we boated 9 smallies, 5 Crappies and about a dozen Rock bass. Back to the stripped fish. We took our corn, tubes and finesse worms and dropped everything on these beds. These fish just kept scurrying around and never even thought twice about hooking up. The carp on the other hand kept coming by to investigate but they chose not to bite also. Must not of been their brand of corn! These fish are the size of pike minnow but a bit more stream line, front facing mouths, and a black strip down both sides and one right down the dorsal. Perhaps they are pike minnow and these are just their breeding colors?
