Since hearing about the action at Lake Tapps, decided to take the family fishing since they were so nice to do their chores without being asked. Arrived just in time to be turned away by the park, since it was just after 7 and found a spot at Dike 12, only spot I could find without a trespassers will be shot sign. In any case, had some pretty good bites myself, seems all the big fish liked the trio of dudes next to us and seen a couple big'uns jump a little further down.

My stepson, did manage to catch his first fish, so that was awesome in itself. It was very nice looking litle smallie, probably about 9 inches or so, after attempting a few pictures on the camera phone we returned it to the lake. I feel we may have gotten there too late or left to early. Somehow my nightcrawlers exploded on the trip up there, so that was a total bummer as well. But I will say all the action was well received by the darker colored lures. I will definitely be back to this lake in hopes of finding another spot or something to fish from the shore.

Throw just past the standing wood on dike 12. Can't go wrong there. I've fished it at dusk and the bite was just turning on.

Yea. I got there at 7:15 pm and the sign stated no entry after 7 pm. So I went on down to dike 12 and had some luck. I am not sure of any other fishing from shore that won't get you shot or ticketed or both, so Dike 12 it is for me. And actually you can mapquest the directions on how to get to Dike 12, pretty sweet now that they have those Satelite imaging capability. Just type in wherever you are coming from and Lake tapps dike 12, and bam there you are my friend.

i looked at it on google earth. cant seem to see a place to park. do you guys fish anywhere along that cove (east side where there arent any homes)? using senkos, spinners, rapalas?

There's a little place just across from Dike 12, almost like an emergency side area, that I park at, there aren't any signs or anything saying not to park, and the gents who were next to me parked there right behind me, so that's the best bet.
