So I decided to give bass at pine a try. got there about 7 and fished till 9:30 with 3 catches... trout. I used a mini torpedo, bass colored and hit the shorelines looking for cover. I saw a lot of smelt/minnows/ baby bass? jumping out of the water along the shores. Lots. I was able to work about 1/2 the lake on the south side around the docks, a few fallen trees, in the lilly pads. Nothing

Can some of you guys explain to me the feeding cycle for these fish. I know they feed pre spawn, guard during spawn, but what the heck to they do after? How long do they guard these nests? Do they eat their own kind or do you think the larger trout might head towards the shorelines now. When should I really start to see the bass again.

thanks

they go deeper, but they will really be putting on the feed bag.

Male bass hangs out with the fry for a week or two, then they just leave or they turn on them. Post spawn largies usually hang out on the first drop off. Usually post spawn use c-rigs, topwater, and senkos.
