6/5/2008 9:32:00 AMThe bullrushes are thriving with carp. I checked out a cove that is normally a spawning ground for carp and they were everywhere. I'd estimate 200 carp thrashing around...some very large. They scatter pretty good when you get close, but I hung around for 20 minutes or so and they calmed down enough that they were swimming under the boat. Quite a show. I don't fish for spawning carp, but in a couple weeks, they'll bite doughballs and cooked chicken right off the bottom. Some of the best fighting fish I've had the pleasure of targeting in mid to late summer.
