Went out to Pine lake early today about 6am. First and only boat on the water. I decided to try my flat fish frog pattern behind the Macks lite pop gear. I hooked a couple small ones right away on my way out from the boat launch. Then once I got to the other end, while I was trolling back I hooked into this 2lb 16" holdover. He has been eating well. Later I tried using a floating minnow behind the pop gear like I usually do and I landed another about the same size. I didn't get a picture of him though. As soon as I was about to take his picture he flopped back in the water. Both these holdovers were caught by the banks just off the bottom which was a little surprising to me because the water temp has dropped back down to 59 degrees because of our great June weather. All in all a good day on Pine lake.
