Went out early from Bills Boat House trolled first straight out in front of Bills Boat House had a couple of hits, no hook ups, I using my own version of wedding ring, took off their hook put on orange colored fly tipped with maggots, friend was using green wedding ring with worm he only got hits but no hook ups all morning, I had violent hits, misssed two of them, hooked up two of them, lost one nice koknee at boat because we did not bring net, dumba-- us, brought other in but released it. The hook ups were mostly on backside of island across from Bills. Every other fisherman, about 50 boats were there also, word was out as the hot spot I guess, talking with others sounded like everybody was going deep, so was my buddy whom never hooked up, I was shallow and like I said I had 4 violent good hits, hooked two, but only brought one into the boat, then the bite was over at least for us, so we decided to beat the bank for Bass, didn't catch any , but did catch about 7 yellow perch biggest about 8" and between the two of us 40 Rock Bass biggest about 4 at 8". I used white jib with feathers, and my friend plain jig tipped with worm, if you ask me though you could have used any color any size jig tipped with worms and have the same result, just get close to bottom for rock bass casting towards bank and drop to bottom for perch and you'll hook up no doubt. We were just having fun with them, a fun competition type of fishing day, how many each could bring in, size and most of each species thing for 1 buck on each category. Got close to time to go in about 2:00 pm trolled back to Bills with no hits from opening by Little American with no luck. An ok day but nothing to brag about.
