Took my son up to Tapps and met up with a buddy that got a new boat(toy). We launched out of the North Tapps Park and began working(drifting)northward on dike#4 and started hitting some smallies in about 6-8ft of water using an assortment of crankbaits. As we hit the northern tip,the fish finder started singing to the tune of crappies. We began tossing some yellow gulp minnows and my son caught his first crappie ever.Between the 3 of us,I'd say about 30 crappie and 7 smallies(largest was 2.5lb)
Didn't see any tigers but I probably wasn't looking that hard.

ALL FISH WERE C&R'ed

Water temp was 57,cloudy with wind and frequent rain showers

I'll post some pics,when I get them

Thanks guys...it was great out there, before the hurricane showed up.
Crappie sizes....not sure,maybe 8 inches(not monsters,maybe a little bigger than Silvers)
The fishfinder was just pinging fish in general. Then we started catching them and found out they were crappies, might have been some blugills around but didn't catch any.

Howdy, that must have been you stading on the end of the dock as we pulled up in the black boat on the other dock. Glad to hear you had much better luck that we did. My son has yet to catch his first of the season, he's getting a bit anxious.
