Went out to Tapps today and didn't have too much luck. I'm not really a pro at this lake so that could be why we didn't catch much. Overall, we caught 5 bass, 2 were 12+ inches and the rest were smaller sized. All were released to catch another day.

My friend actually had best luck on a silver/blue rat trap cast towards docks and weed beds. I landed my only bass on a senko and missed a couple other ones. I haven't really cracked the code on this lake yet. We tried a little musky fishing with some bigger Rapala's and Crankbaits but no luck bringing a rise out of them.

Does anyone have any idea on about what depth is it good to fish for Musky? I made a new years resolution to catch my first this year and haven't had any luck at all. I know they are the fish of 10,000 casts, but I think I might be doing something wrong. Well good luck to you all out there!

tobeka,
Musky can be caught in a variety of different depths at different times of the year as you probably know. They are an ambush predator just like bass so sometimes both species of fish water overlap. The bigger musky are never to far from deep water (15-20+). Muskyhunter and myself were out on the water on Saturday and saw a 40" fish in about 5' of water with a drop off to 20-30 feet about 15 yards away from where the fish was at. Also, from what I have read a lot of musky have been caught on bucktails this year. Granted big rapala's and crankbaits work to, but it seems that bucktails have been quite effective. Hope this helps and good fishing

Oh yeah and persistence is key. It took me about 2 months of fishing every weekend before I even hooked a fish.
