As I started my 80th year on Planet Earth, I decided to fish Wildcat Lake. Was going to take my old bass tracker but had a battery problem so took my little boat. Wildcat Lake has a 7 MPH speed limit so small boats work well there. The weather was ideal, warm and sunny with no wind. Only 2 other boats on the lake and they were fishing for trout. The fishing was good but the catching was not even though I fished during high tide. One of my fishing buddies swears that fish bite better during high tide. I fished about half of the shoreline and only had one strike on a 10 inch worm. The fish hit short and pulled the worm down without reaching the hook. Saw a few cruising bass in the gin clear water, a few in the 3 pound range and several smaller bass but none wanted to play. Guess they didn't know it was my birthday.
