Mike and I fished Badger for the first time. Launched the boat around 6:30am. Water temp. was close to 74. Began trolling on top with jointed Rapalas. Caught a handful of small bass (released), not much bigger than the lure. Broke out the downriggers and took are baits to 30ft. Had two limits of rainbows by 11am. All fish were around 13/14 inches. Would have gave it a five had we hooked into some hold overs. When we were leaving I saw a couple guys cleaning a bunch of those small bass next to the launch. These fish were like 6/7 inches, why?

Maybe they were cleaning those bass because Badger is a trout lake. Those bass were illegally planted. I would do the same thing. Can you bass guys leave a couple of lakes alone?

Regardless if it was intended to be a trout lake or not, it isn't now. I had no problem catching the thousands of trout this lake is planted with.

I think the point is why kill 6/7 inch fish? A 6 inch bass is hardly enough meat for a nugget, and regardless of wether or not it is a "Trout Lake" or not, I think it is a bit immoral to start pointing the finger at "Bass Guys" and recommend people start killing ridiculously small fish. You being a "trout guy" how would you feel if people were limiting on 6 inch trout? Oh wait - thats normal for you guys. I forgot there a thousands of stupid hatchery trout planted in damn near every lake around here. I can't help but catching them, even when i fishing for catfish, or panfish, or just letting my hook hang in the water.... By the way.. I wouldn't consider myself a 'Bass Guy' there aren't too many species I haven't caught. Mr. Bruce Nelson - you my friend, need an attitude adjustment. Good luck with those trout!

I have to agree , I fished for Trout all my life. Now I think they are just stupid creatures. Bass fight harder, take more skill to catch, and are better eating.
Bass 4 life. Washington needs to stop killing off awesome bass fisheries.

Why is it every lake has to be a trout lake here in Washington. Just down the road is Williams lake!!!!!!! Nothing but trout and plenty of them for you "trout" people. I would imagine that the non-locals kill more trout than the bass do. Remeber, the bass aren't going to go out looking for trout. Their staple is bluegill, etc. Plus trout are like cattle anyway. MOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I am a fisherman, I fish for all species and always release the small ones. I like to fish for bass and trout or whatever.. What are trout people pepperrr? Fisherman are not judgeing and everyone is equal, just respect and enjoy our area lakes and rivers, fish and respect each other.
