I hear ya... I have been out there only a couple times over the past two months, and it has been sloooow to say the least!! EARLY morning, crawling frogs across the pads, or slow rolling spinnerbaits on the weed edges in about 13-15 feet of water is about all I have been able to get to work, and even that has been minimal. Oh, I did get one 4lb'er on a black buzz in the SE corner a couple weeks ago, but that was IT! As for the WDFW, the only "kill juice" that was used, was to kill the lily pads, why?? I guess so the ski boats can get in close to shore and rip their motors off on all the stumps?! I wish! As you could see, the pads all came back! The only thing it accomplished it seems is the new layer of thick green goo that is sticking to all the lily pads, and piled up in the South corner, making it nearly impossible to fish anything with "blades"! This lake should pick back up in Mid-August, don't give up! It still is a great lake, it just has it's good times and techniques, and right now is a really tough time to fish it. I will still go over the next month or so, just not that often, and with the idea that I should only expect a couple bites! The other bad thing I heard, is that the "catalytic converter burglars" are on the prowl out there!! So be sure to pay attention if you night fish, and as always lock and load!!! Good to hear about Cavanaugh, I have been wanting to try that lake....maybe I should! Tight Lines.....and not from tires....

That is correct! Cat converter bandits!! Last time I was there, as I was waiting to launch, a guy was leaving at about 3pm. He said he was only out three hours or so, and when he got in his truck and started it up, he thought it sounded bad, got out and looked and someone had hacked off his catalytic converter! In broad daylight! WTF??? He said he was heading to the Police Dept to report it. I remember hearing something about that on the news about six months ago or so, something about what's inside the catalytic converter being worth decent money? I can't remember exactly? That really sucks too, cause this is the time of year to night fish that lake, but who knows what you will come back to??!! Almost makes you want to send a buddy out in the dark on your boat while you hide in the woods waiting to dole out some justice!! NOTHING irks me more than vehicles getting vandalized at boat launches and trailheads, enough to make you wanna shove a squid jig up someones ***!! Sorry, I know this is a family site, but ooooh I get ticked off!!!!

Hey, and by the way, I'm not a BS'er when it comes to my reports....if you look back, you will see that I posted some crappy trips myself! I'm never afraid to tell it howit is, I just get really excited about having success, especially if it's on a new lake, or during the tougher summer months, or on a homemade bait! I love to fish, especially for bass, and I love to share tips and techniques with others......as long as they share back:)

Hey, if you want some good action, smallmouth are going nuts right now!!! Easy to get into double digits!!! Try Goodwin, Stevens, Sammamish, Samish, or Whatcom, sometimes it's the cure for the largemouth blues?? It's also a great way to get re-energized and then go back and try for largies.
