Got to the lake at 8:30 first time at Spanaway. Didn't like the 6 buck launch fee. Trolled for hours and the wife caught 4 small bass that we tossed back, anchored and used everything in the box. Around 2:00 the trout started hitting and we couldn't keep 'em off the hook. I caught two. A 2.25 pounder and she caught a pounder and we caught three more about 3/4 pounds. It was a fantastic day.

We found them in 18 feet of water. Fish finder said they were just off the bottom so we set our slip bobbers at 16 feet with just worms and a hook and started nailing them. My wife caught one off the bottom, rebaited and cast back out and got another one as soon as it hit the water. So there were some near the surface too. Had to pick up a friend at the airport so we left at 3:30.

What a beautiful, beautiful lake and I've fished a lot of lakes.
