It was a great day on the water. It was also good to put a face to your name. I see I made your perch picture...lol.
After we met at 7am and fished together for a while Stan (vancouverhandyman) left for other adventures at about noon and I stayed and fished till about 4pm. I caught 3 bluegill, 4 yellow perch, one black crappie and added one new specie to my September 30 goal of 10 with the addition of a small largemouth bass. A couple of the perch were caught on a worm and all the rest were caught on red or black trout magnets.
I tried to fish the pads near the island, but too much vegetation and very shallow water and my ignorance of method kept me from getting any fish. I did try fir a half-dozen casts a Hula Popper. It was fun, but fruitless. As I rounded the island back toward the boat launch I caught the bass just off the point.
