A buddy and I went out started off at the 7$ launch at 5am and fished till noon. I caught nothing but Squa's all day long off lures that are meant for LMB/SMB. My friend caught 1 SMB that was a dink. The SMB was released alive and well to grow up. All Squa's were released with a spinal injury.

Squaw fish make excellent trout bait, if it's legal to use there. fillet them small and hold on!

What launch are you referring too? I only know of the river launch at the south end and the DNR launch at the north end. I am curious if you mean a diffrent one. I can't remeber what I paid at the south location.

I have been using the first launch on the lake i.e. the one closest to the damn going up river.

Sounds like WDFW needs to stock some esox in the lake. I know there are a few northern pike, but I think a population increase of either pike or Tiger Muskie is on call

I checked out the lake for any and all public launches last week; something I had been planing on doing for a long time.

There is one launch at the entrance of the Little Spokane River, just downstream of the Spokane House. There is the Nine Mile resort/park launch that you get to by going across the bridge just down from 9 mile dam, and looking to the right. Both of these seem to be pretty close to each other, and both cost $7 to launch. The 9 mile appears to be the safer launch to me, but I did not launch at either one.

Downstream of Tum Tum there is a DNR camp ground, with a boat launch. The DNR camp sign does not indicate a launch, but it is there and it is a pretty good launch; concrete, steep enough but not too steep, and from what we could tell, free. It is apparent that there was once fee boxes for using the camping and launch, but all signs for payment, and all payment locations, have been removed. We asked several people about a cost to use it, and everyone looked at me like I was a fool.

There is a sign at the Little Spokane launch if I recall that indicates a public launch in Tum Tum, but if it is there, I sure could not find it. I think that this was once a public launch that is not private. There is also a private resort, members only, upstream of Tum Tum, but again, the general public can not use it.

To the best of my knowledge, this is all of the public launches on the lake, and none of them are open before 0600 in the morning, and all close at either dusk or 10:00 PM.
