The fishing day started waiting for a fishing buddy to show up who never did show because of work commitments as it turned out. I'm sure we've all had one of those days. Finally got to the lake at 7:30 with a about four boats already on the water and more behind me waiting to launch. Started my usual silent trolling assault with the Minnkota set to stealth mode. Dropped the old faithful secret weapon over the side and and started to catch a limit of nice plants for the smoker. Water temp was at 69 degrees with a slight breeze coming out of the Southeast. Made the rounds getting the fish report from the other boats. They all reported slow catching with only one or two fish per boat. Did I mention I had my five keepers in the 12 inch range, in just fifty minutes. Decided to catch and run instead of playing some more. A nasty looking storm was getting ready to dump on us. Everybody was starting to make a b-line for the launch. Until next time, keep a tight line.
