Trolled a shad colored Rapala Shad Rap for a few hours and had plenty of smallmouth action--caught approximately 5 and lost 3. The photo is of the largest fish, at approximately 18 inches, the biggest bass I've ever caught in Lake Whatcom. My kayak was pulled toward the fish during the fight. I released it. Neat--it had two, long crayfish antennae visible in its throat. What a day. I quit during the action because I was a dork and didn't bring my rain gear. I got soaked and wet on the way to back to the launch, AND I lost the Shad Rap on a snag!

Between the WWU Lakewood facility and Sudden Valley, south shore of the lake. Good luck. The big bass was south of Lakewood.
