Mike picked up a couple of browns and I only got some good strong hits. He was getting them on his one only white wooly bugger, just the fly that I didn't have in my box :-(

8/12/2008 9:39:00 AMRuel Stayner, the creater of the Stayner Ducktail, was a great guy that lived and worked out of Twin Falls Idaho. The man was a genius when it came to still water fly fishing; a genius I was previlidged to know during my teen years.
Ruel use to say that the fly worked as well when you changed the olive body for other colors as well. I have a bunch tied in a perch variant using a variegated yellow/brown chenille. If you have perch in your body of water, it may be worth trying some of them as well.
Still, that standard tie is sure a great fly.
