8/12/2008 1:16:00 PMnice cutt what were you using my son and i were out a few diffrent times and hooked a few coho never no dang cutts though whats the trick we were between 40' and 65' down using a chrome dodger and dick night whats the trick any help would be nice thanks you the man!

What you are using is pretty much the same as we are using. I always use 8lb flourocarbon leader, at least 4' long behind the dodger. Also make sure you are at least 100' behind the downrigger ball, I don't think this is as important when the salmon and stickleback smolts are in the lake but now the fish are becoming more wary and you need to think "stealth". And don't forget to add some scent. I've had success with herring oil, anise, krill, shrimp and crawfish scents, I don't think it matters which just as long as you have some! Now hooking coho in Lake Washington is a nice trick, I'm going to be gunning for them in September when the north end of lake opens for catch and keep if anyone has the dope on catching them, I'd love to hear it!
