At first my brother took us to a point, we had some hits but couldn't get them so we went to the other side of the lake and i started to throw a wacky rigged sincko. I lost a lot of half pounders and less. Then my brother started to throw the same thing and we started to go into this cove. It got deeper so my brother threw a crank bait. I casted to one side and he to the other. He hooked up on one and I was watching my lure come out of the shade and behind it was a 9-10 pound fish. The fish inhaled it. I hooked as hard as I could, it came right at me. I reeled as fast as I could, he went in to the sticks. My brother looked over at me and dropped his pole. Once I pulled him out my brother lipped the fish and gave him to me I could barley lip him. We took pictures and released the fish. We went down the lake a little ways and my brother caught a 2 pound fish. That was all we caught that day.

Congrats on your trophy catch and hats off to you for releasing the giant. I know it is a hot topic on here but the catch and release of big bass will help ensure the future of our fisheries. Beautiful fish!

Huge fish kid. Thanks for releasing it. Sawyer needs the C&R, that lake is terrible compared to past years.

I have fished Sawyer several times years ago and never hooked a hwag like that. Congrats on the catch and it is great to see a young angler release such a nice fish. I would bet many would have kept it for show and tell. Good luck, may you catch many more as big or bigger. BJ

OK then...I admit to inclusion in the classification of the Genus Doubtingus Thomasii...
The report leads one to believe the event occurred 9-1-08, yet the sun never showed on that lake all that day.
The image tags read "TravisBigBass06-2008a"(andb)".jpg", which further leads to confusion in my feeble brain.
I will say this, however...no matter the circumstances, that is one helluva bass and one I know I've not matched even closely.
There could be no one here who wouldn't have loved to be on the handle of that rod...KUDOS to the great man who released it!

I'm the proud grama of this wonderful boy , also known as T-bone to friends and family !! He's a great outdoorsman, plays sports, drives legends, and is a loving son and grandson - some lucky girl out there doesn't have a clue of whats ahead for :) :) . Kudo's to his parents for raising four great boys - they all have wonderful talents and are so kind and loving.
I'm having trouble staying connected to the web so if the other 3 comments I typed in went through I'm sorry for the repeats.
Love you T-bone, Grama Estes
