Well I finally scored a couple hours to go fishing, and decided on Lake Shoecraft, especially after driving by Lake Goodwin and seeing the boat traffic!! Not to mention, if I am going to pay $7 to launch, I'm gonna wanna stay all day!

I started out throwing a chartreuse and white 3/8oz Terminator spinnerbait with double willows. I had no hits but small fish so I switched to a Carolina-rigged and Texas-rigged power worm...one in motor oil color, and the other pumpkinseed. The pumpkinseed c-rig got all the attention, but from the little 5 inchers that seem to be everywhere!!

So, I switched back to the spinnerbait, and good thing....slowly reeling it past a dock piling in 9 feet of water, and just above the weeds, this beauty stopped it dead! She swam towards the boat at first, but then tried to take me back under the dock....it was a very nice fight! Went 6.2lbs on the digital scale!

The only bad thing was that she was the only taker, but hey, no ski boats and a beautiful night!
