First of all, a big thanks to those who post. I just moved from Chicago 2wks ago and part of my decision to come out here was seeing the size of LM that you folks were catching out here. Anyway, went out to Chambers this past Saturday after being unable to find the launch for Long Lake (can anyone help me out on that one? Is there an official boat launch somewhere? Where is 7 mile and 9 mile?) Fished in the afternoon with my boss. Caught a bunch of dink LM and what people were calling Silvers. Started throwing a large stickbait that dives about 4-6 ft after getting no where for a while working it from the shore and caught the decent LM that you see in the pic. My scale wasn't working, so I am putting it between 4-5lbs. No measuring tape either, guess that's still in a box somewhere. It was cloudy, mild wind to calm and temps were in the high 60s. Nice lake, but one has to work hard for fish here and looking at past posts, it seems like this was pure luck as all my other fish were less than 10". Oh yeah, released as always much to my partner's chagrin.

For Long Lake head West On Francis Road for 9 Miles then you can turn left directly after the dam and follow the signs. Or you can continue past the dam and just past the Spokane House on the left is another boat launch. Hope that helps! Did you fish Chambers or Chapman???

Astute readers here. Sorry, Chapman lake it was. There is a Chambers I fished a lot in the past. Thanks for the directions, I'll give it a try once this wind quits.

The fish called "silvers" are Kokanee...a great eating fish. I was at Chapman this weekend and the lake seemed packed with them. Lots of action.

Unfortunately Long Lake is closed for the rest of the year. It sucks! We are coming into some of the best fishing of the year. Bass, Crappie, and Perch are getting fat for the long winter. Unless someone knows otherwise you can only access Long Lake via the bank off of Hwy 291 out past Tum Tum....
