March 22nd me and my buddy Flatfish went out to American Lake, from the launch we shot out to the northwest side of the lake in my new Bass Boat, started at the point leading into the cove where the water temp increased from 47 to 51.We were in about 20 feet of water casting a 1/2 ounce Ratl-trap (BABYBASS) into 8 ft. of water at a stop and go retreive, and when I stopped to let the bait fall BANG! This 4.25lb Smallmouth Bass almost took the rod right out of my hand at about 3ft.from the boat. Yes catch & release were also in the picture.
