My wife & best friend went out on 'Lake Bonney' as the locals call it....and we started by dragging a couple Doc Spratley flies. My wife at this time was in the supervisory position...middle of the boat. Anyway, My bud landed a nice 12" bow and released it. We were both getting strikes, but hard to hook up. I then changed to a white spotted flatfish, f-4 I think, and I caught one perch, two crappie & another trout about the same size. Unfortunately, he took the treble hook and messed up his mouth, so we invited him for dinner. We were only there a couple hours and what a show the birds put on. There is a pair of nesting Eagles and an Osprey, whom the Eagles kept running off. Bonney Lake is a beautiful small lake and quiet, no gas motors allowed. It's not real deep, around 25' in the middle and there are a lot of lily pads around the edge. I have caught some nice bass here before, but none today. Also, if you're thinking about going, they have made the road around the lake into a one way road going counter-clockwise around the lake.
