Went to Packwood for the weekend and started out at Skate creek with no luck at all. Then decided to go up over White Pass to try Dog Lake. Only driven by it before, pretty little lake. It was a bit cool out and totally empty of fisherman ( some people camping thou, probably hunters.) The water was like glass and there was fish surfacing all over by the shoreline. Should be easy pickens huh? Well between 3 of us gals we were getting bites right and left but they were really hard to set the hook. We ended up only bringing 2 to shore, a big 3 incher and one around 8 inches. Both were released. Did see a very large one jump clear of the water in front of us. Wanted to try the Cowlitz on the way back to the cabin but I forgot my my fishing vest so I had my pole but no gear. There was alot of people out there fishing all weekend and saw a few good size fish caught. All in all it was great weekend to be out.
