Got to go fishing with Aaron , and Joe Heinlen and Anton Jones of Darrell and Dad's Family Guide Service (www.darrellanddads.com). We fished from 7am through 3:30pm and had a great day! The morning bite was quite strong with several doubles. Things slowed down around 10am as a rainy front came through and the bite definitely slowed down. Around 2pm things started picking up and we again began hitting some nice fish. Our method was trolling one of Joe's self-tied black flies at 1.8 to 2.2 mph, pretty much within the top three feet of the water column. These fish would come up and just slam the fly!

Our fish ranged up to 4 pounds, and Joe was actually disappointed that we hadn't hooked any of the bigger fish that he has been getting his clients on. Well, in my book a 58 fish day rates a "5", especially considering how chunky nice these fish are! Soon to come a Rufus Woods Video to add to our collection! Great day, thanks Joe and Anton! If you get a chance book a trip through Darrell and Dad's, you'll not be disappointed. Water temp (I think) low 50s, air temp - chilly - dropped 10 degrees with that cold front, but nice and warm in Joe's boat. :-)

You can also contact Joe Heinlen on his cell phone #509-393-9665.

Yup, and from what I understand it will only get better. Hard to believe... With gas prices down it cost me abou $45 for the round trip in my truck, BTW.

Joe develops a good rep with his clients, and produces positive results. It all adds up to a great day on the water. Glad to see the up to date report. As you say, it only gets better.
