I have fished this lake many times in the past. If you fish Billy Clapp lake in the winter time you will most likely be alone or at least in very limited company. It does not get a lot of winter time pressure. Summer time is a very different story. Lots of jet skis and ski boats close to the area around the boat launch but the lake is long enough that if you travel north you can always find good areas to fish.
In the warmer months the boat launch can be very crowded and I have had to wait up to an hour before launching.

A very mixed bag of game fish is available so if the rainbow are not hitting your spinners you can always pull into the small bay about half way up the lake on the East side and load up on the legal limit of perch or bottom troll the East side of the lake for the walleye.

I've also caught a couple of very large grass carp. I've looked for both small and large mouth bass but as of yet I haven't had any luck in that department.

There was a spill over of Kokanee back in the 05's. me and my family caught the biggest kokanne we have ever caught and fought. That was last year, the Kokanee are pretty much gone. We had to work for are fish, 5+ hours we only caught 3. We fish a lot for Kokanee and have it dialed in, but billy clapp is a lot of work for em.
