Good day! I have a hard time picking any rating other than a 3 or higher even if I didn't catch any fish. My thought is "If I am breathing and fishing it's ALL good!"
At any rate here is the report that I promised. :) They have yet to release the fish in Beaver lake. People were waiting on shore for the trucks to arrive. Best guess is tomorrow morning since it is the last day of the week and they are supposed to release the fish this week.
There were about 7 or 8 guys on shore waiting for the trucks to arrive and not fishing. Only 3 die hards were actually trying for holdovers. One gentleman in a small boat had one fish on his stringer. Another guy in a toon was fishing weed beds along the shore and would every once in a while troll a fly across the lake to another weed bed. I suppose he was trying for both bass and trout or what ever might take his fly. Then there was me in my tube. I trolled a few different flies but no bites. I only had an hour on the lake since I had to go to work (and I had to pee like a race horse!). Even the local Bald Eagle didn't catch sight of any fish.
I did see one fish take something of the surface, it scared the heck out of me and probably him too! He jumped so close to my tube I could have hit him over the head with my hand. So other than that one and the other on that guys stringer that is all I saw.
Still had a good time though! :) Be heading back out on Sunday with my boy. Hope they have the fish released by then.

Your keeping the rest of us up to date on Beaver is much appreciated. May be headed there myself Sunday, depending on the weather, etc.

For some reason I think this is sad. Poor people standing in the rain waiting for the hatchery truck so they can catch a fish. Something wrong there!.....LOL I bet all the home owners around that lake just love the WDFW making this an annual circus. I'd much rather they spread those fish around to a variety of lakes rather than dump them all in one spot.

It definately is a different experience. I was on Roesiger a year ago and the truck just happened to have dropped off triploids while I was fishing farther down the lake. Whe I returned to the boat launch I started catching all these huge trout, one after another. After I found out from a shore angler what had happened I did feel like I was kinda cheating - bu it sure was fun!

I must agree with Fish On -- It is a sad day in fishing when anglers stand around in the rain waithing for hatchery trucks. Maybe that is why I like bass fishing. You won't see them dumping bass into the lakes. Mr. & Mrs. Bass handle the populations almost entirely on their own.

I too agree that it is said that that they were just standing around. Their poles were just leaning against their tackel boxes. They could have at least been fishing for the existing carry overs.

Had the same experience as Mike on Lost Lake last July. Just happened to run up there for the day - 2 days after the plant and they hadn't reported it yet. Had a ball. But waiting for em? Not my thing. I'd rather fish all day and get skunked than wait for a truck and bag a limit in an hour or less. To each thier own.
I would like to see them not announce the plants until like a month later on year round lakes, and for seasonal lakes, plant like the week after the lakes close for the season and not announce those plants at all!

Man the same thing happened to me at Green Lake one time a few years back. A buddy and I were on the dock next to the stadium and then the fish truck pulled down and just started spraying in all fish! So we switched our tackle over to dick nites, pinched the barbs back and just sat back and had the best fishing in my life! The only other time that was like this is when I went to Arkansas to visit family and in their cattle pond I was catching bass, catfish, and crappie just as soon as my jig touched the water!

God are we desperate or what. I agree with Gringo.Just think every time this year we are going to read about these sportsmen with their "incredible day!!!!!!!!!" My thoughts exactly about not posting the fish plants for at least a week, give them time to acclimate and spread out, it sure would make the lake hold up longer for people who like to fish throughout the year. It just doesn't seem right to fish out a lake within a week and brag as if you are the best in the state. I am glad that those fishermen have been going out waiting for " the Truck." Maybe they will plant sometimes next week, gee I hope so, they will be out every day until then. Then we will be the beneficiaries of their incredible day at the lake. Just had to get that off my chest since I am recovering from surgery, will hopefully be out there in February

I went to this spot one time and they had just put out some really nice trout all about the same size.about 2lbs They were really chunky and had a nice colorful stripe down their sides. I had a good day but felt like I was cheating. One good thing was, I took 4 home and the trip cost less than 20 bucks. I think the spot was called QFC.
