Drove down to Lacamas Lake with my boat and found that the lake was so low that the boat launch was unusable. As a matter of fact it was roped off and closed. The lake is no longer a lake, but a mud hole with a few potholes of stagnant water. Whoever is responsible for the lake did something similar last year, except this year the water is not just low, much of the lake has no water. Undoubtedly most to all the fish have died. No wonder the fishing in this lake which use to be good has gone to heck. This lake deserves to be managed better than this.

I agree with you 100%. I used to go there at least once a week during the spring - fall, but since last year, the fishing has been really bad, so i have pretty much given up on the lake and started hitting up others. Now, i hit the Lewis for Steelys and The columbia for Smallies. Lacamas was always a lose/lose for me with the occasional dink here and there. Nothing special. I hope the lake dies, so that we can restock it with more bass and fish. Its been forever since it has been stocked wtth bass. And between you and me, the sea-weed has kind of taken over.

couldnt have said it better my self. i think its the skiers that are pushing the kill off so they dont have to deal with us on the lake.

I also had the same situation a couple of weeks ago, upon further investigationI found out it was drained at the round lake end for dam repair and with no rain to speak of until recently it hasn't filled as quickly as we would all like. I can say I have never had a bad day of trout fishing here it has always treated me well even when the personal watercraft are like fleas on a dog I still manage to get a mixed bag limit of browns and bows. The lake is however due for a stocking of decent sized trout in December, so hang on I think things will work out.

Well, very disappointing. I viewed the lake from the park end last week. I'm planning on floating it, perhaps even fishing it, this weekend, rain or shine.

I hope they restock and maintain it, as it's just a perfect distance from my place. I'm a newbie to Washington fishing, as I'm an Oregon resident. I purchased my license primarily because the driving required to go fishing will be much shorter by going up to Washington.

I'll be in the white 10-ft Aquapod.
