As for the crowds, I was thinking that there should have been someone playing a calliope; it was that kind of circus. I actually saw some guy trolling while being TOWED by another boat.
Even so, for all the people at Beaver yesterday, it was most definitely a GOOD crowd; the most common phrase I heard , "Thanks for your help. "
( And even yesterday at Beaver Lake was still nothing compared to the Cowlitz, down by Blue Creek, when there's a hot steelhead bite. )

11/10/2008 9:55:00 AMI did witness the joy of a dad berating his son for not playing a fish correctly. But the best circus show was the pack of cub scouts waiting for their nearby meeting at the park to start. They came down to the lake bank and threw rocks amongst the fishing poles and lines in the water. After a few minutes, one of their handlers did notice and tried to convince them to stop. Good times.
