Well, I managed to escape for a day and decided I would try Clear Lake for some casting practice. It was a nice calm sunny day and I just couldn't sit at home, not to mention Clear Lake is one of the only lakes that is year round!! I started the day messing around for bass, I fished from 5 feet out to 25 feet. I thought I had one bite, but couldn't be sure, then i noticed a fish "fining" out to my left. I through a bobber and worm out in his direction, and after a couple seconds he smacked at the bobber!! I lifted up the slack hoping he would see the worm, and off he went, worm in mouth! I gave him a second then pop! The fight was on! Even more fun was trying to dig my little trout net out while fighting the fish....made it interesting. I finally landed the bugger and it weighed in at 2lbs 10 ozs....not bad.

I noticed more fish rising here and there, so I set off to duplicate the process. I missed one other about the same size.

I decided to go back to bass fishing, and caught the 4lb bass in the pic after about 30 minutes. She was in 6' of water, and she went for a Texas rigged power worm, with brass and glass for noise.

The water was getting really green from algae, and you had to look for areas where it wasn't too thick to fish! Water temps were 46.5-48.7 degrees....the sun definitely helped!

That's the latest in the year for a largemouth for me, all in all it was a pretty nice November day!
